I’m Beckie, the founder of Root and Rise Counselling, located in East Sussex. I offer a supportive and empathetic environment that prioritises your emotional well-being.
I work with both adults and children (8 yrs +) in a calm, grounded, and relational way, including children's counselling tailored to individual needs. I believe in the power of being truly heard—without judgment, pressure, or agenda.
As a person-centred, integrative therapist, I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of you or your child. I work deeply with neurodivergent clients, those navigating trauma, and anyone seeking a space to feel more like themselves, including those looking for teen-centred counselling.
My Values:
• Creative & Adaptive – Therapy that meets you where you’re at
• Safe & Trauma-Informed – Gently holding your lived experiences
• Affirming & Inclusive – Celebrating neurodiversity and difference
Qualifications:
• Foundation Degree in Person Centred Counselling.
• Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People.
• APCCA Certificate Course in Person Centred Creative Arts.
• Developmental Trauma and Trauma-Informed Practice.
• Specialist training and lived experience in neurodivergence: Autism, ADHD, PDA, sensory processing needs, and masking.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and am fully insured.

At Root and Rise Counselling in Eastbourne and online, I offer one-on-one counselling sessions tailored to your unique needs.
My approach is rooted in empathy and understanding, allowing you to explore your feelings and experiences in a safe environment. Prioritising the emotional well-being of all individuals.
I believe in empowering you to discover your own strengths and insights, leading to personal growth and healing.

Creative therapy plays a vital role in emotional well-being, allowing feelings to surface when words may be blocked. It helps access unconscious parts of the self, encourages insight, and fosters regulation.
For neurodivergent clients, including those with autism, ADHD, sensory sensitivities, and PDA profiles, I provide tailored counselling that honours your unique needs—this is not a one-size-fits-all approach. You won’t be asked to ‘fit in’ or ‘change’ who you are.
Instead, we will collaborate to unmask safely, explore your identity, and reduce overwhelm, leading to greater self-understanding and peace.

Children often feel deeply but struggle to articulate their inner world. Through creative and playful approaches, I provide counselling to children and teens in Eastbourne and online that helps them feel safe, understood, and supported.
Common Issues:
• Emotional regulation & anxiety
• School avoidance, social difficulties
• Sensory sensitivity or meltdowns
• Family transitions, grief or loss
• Support for neurodivergent clients, including those with autism or ADHD (diagnosed or self-identified)
Approach: Using play, art, movement, and metaphor, I help children explore their world in ways that feel non-pressured, natural and empowering,
